The Wesley Star Company Announces Intent to Acquire Calbert Productions IP
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 22, 2026 THE WESLEY STAR COMPANY ANNOUNCES INTENT TO ACQUIRE CALBERT PRODUCTIONS IP Planned All-Stock Acquisition to Expand Media Capabilities, Consolidate IP, and Establish New Internal Creative Unit FORT WORTH, TEXAS — The Wesley Star Company (“TWSC”), a wholly controlled subsidiary of Wesley/PlanetStar/Star LLC, today announced its intent to acquire Calbert Productions IP in a strategic all-stock transaction designed to further unify creative, media, and technology operations across the Star system. The proposed acquisition is subject to customary approvals, regulatory filings, and closing conditions, and is expected to close within approximately three months. Upon completion, Calbert Productions IP will be fully acquired by The Wesley Star Company and cease to operate as an independent legal entity. Transaction Overview The planned acquisition represents a continuation of the Company’s long-term strategy to consolidate core creative capabilities under a single operating structure while preserving the legacy and future growth of the Star brand. Upon closing: All assets, contracts, relationships, and intellectual property of Calbert Productions LLC are expected to transfer to The Wesley Star Company and its parent entities Calbert Productions IP will be integrated into the Star system as part of a complete internal consolidation The Wesley Star Company will remain the sole surviving operating entity Creation of Internal Subsidiary: COLE Following completion of the acquisition, The Wesley Star Company plans to establish a new internal subsidiary: COLE — Constellating Orbit Launching Exploration COLE will operate as a wholly owned internal development unit focused on creative, media, and exploratory initiatives. COLE will not hold independent equity, voting authority, or governance power. All work produced by COLE will be classified as work-for-hire and owned exclusively by Wesley/PlanetStar/Star LLC. Intellectual Property Consolidation As part of the proposed acquisition, all intellectual property currently held by Calbert Productions IP is expected to be consolidated into the Star system, including: Starhound and related tools Production workflows, creative pipelines, and development systems Software frameworks, internal platforms, and vendor relationships Calbert-originated concepts, franchises, and derivative works This consolidation strengthens the unified stewardship of the Company’s intellectual property, spanning more than a century of innovation, including: Lang IP (1878–1956) Lang-Star IP (1956–1974) Baldwin Communications IP (1974–2018) PlanetStar IP (2018–2020) Wesley/PlanetStar/Star IP (2020–Present) Star IP (1929–Present) Leadership Continuity & Founder Stewardship Cole Albert, Principal of Calbert Productions IP and a long-time creative leader within the Star ecosystem, is expected to continue in a senior leadership role within The Wesley Star Company following the close of the transaction.
